Hi all, good call on the refrigerator idea Jon, the ladders tie in with those fitted to railway trucks with the same cooling function

Interesting, not food and not living things......horizontally symmetrical sides are a teaser, as are the ladders on the end, but can’t see it clearly enough to determine the opening mech. So going for a macabre idea out of left field, is it a wagon for transporting dead bodies for burial?
Cheers
Tim
Sorry Tim, nothing to do with bodies...

Going by the apparent clue that no living creatures use the trailer, I’m also tending to think it’s some kind mega-hearse.
Good thinking.
possibly refridgerated? So mobile morgue or blood transfusion transport.
Jon.

Gentlemen, it's not a hearse, it's not refrigerated, not a surgical unit or used for blood. It is used to transport very important wares and that's where the ladders help.

Another clue is that this trailer also had a little brother used for the same purpose. It also has no internal power supply like a generator or such....Viel Spass!!!!

Well if it isn't a mobile breast cancer screening unit it must be for the Field Marshall's dinner service.
Damn Rick, You're killing Sir! I can hardly type while laughing so hard……..No, I'm afraid it's not one of those two either!!!

Ok, Here is a picture of the little brother I mentioned earlier…….

Sorry Paul, but there is no fuel involved with these two...…...

I think that little one is a generator.
No Sir Rick, a generator inside would need an exhaust exit to the outside, plus only the side panels open on the little guy… That would make removing a generator really difficult…..

I can see the little one opens like a barn top tool box, and has a small vent in the end, so are they something dumb like horse fodder carriers? Failing that, mini and mighty Wurlitzervaggonen ?
Cheers
Tim
....or mobile toilets?

The bloody thing about those photos is that there are big BUNDESARCHIV watermarks, yet trying to search that for “Anhänger” doesn’t turn up the same photos at all.

So true Jakko! The archives are rather difficult to navigate and pictures are strewn about and with crazy filing numbers for each one. A lot of times they aren't even together in one place...

Still occasionally using logic here, in between flights of insanity, it must hold something that needs to be kept dry (it’s a covered trailer), isn’t that heavy (they are lightly constructed), or is not able to be transported in a standard covered truck....I can’t think of anything that has those characteristics but That requires such disparity of trailer sizes?

Definitely. My experience with almost all these kinds of picture archive sites is that you can browse them more or less randomly (by general topic at best) and find good photos between a lot you’re not interested in, but trying to find a photo of something specific — let alone a specific photo — is pretty much impossible.
