No. Wrong era.
the paint scheme might be a bit misleading as most of these were plain olive drab.

It’s a Centurion’s left front mudguard. I suspect the thing to be a boot scraper, but I’m not sure as I’ve never seen it before on one.

It's an Australian Centurion 5/1 which saw service in Vietnam.
Major mods include deletion of the bazooka plates, addition of a 100 gallon rear fuel tank, extra armour plate on the glacis etc.
Amongst the smaller field mods was the additon of boot scrapers, made from lengths of star picket, welded to fenders or elsewhere. The Aussies did their soldiering to the south-east of Saigon- very muddy!
Lee gets a highly commended for perseverance but best of show goes to Jakko.......again.

I had only heard of those being put on the plates over the exhaust mufflers, spaced far enough apart that a ration tin fit between them so that a meal could be cooked easily after a day’s operations.

What can I say? AFVs are one of the few subjects I have in-depth knowledge of … Which is why I’ll now go and try to find a non-AFV picture to post. I may be some time :smiling3:
