That looks great Graham, I don' envy you with all the decals. I spent half an hour yesterday fighting with tiny decals for the dials on a dashboard.

Any idea where you could get this from in the U.K.? I cannot find it...
well i am not british and not live in UK :smiling3: but i found that Amerang Limited is Hasegawa's UK Distributor
http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/distributors/amerang-limited/
checked their webpage and it seems that they have in stock
http://www.amerang.co.uk/index.php?...ufacturer_id=48&product_id=54217#.WLAq2PJNuvk
you can contact with them to ask price/stock etc.

But i directly buy from japan https://hlj.com/ or http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/

I used the Zero paints one John. It is actually three parts. Clear, Hardener and Thinner. I am a bit concerned about the safety issues around this as you are spraying a plastic in effect which 'gasses off' as it cures so needs careful handling and good extraction plus mask.

It is a 'hot' product and they recommend a light dusting over decals to seal them followed by a slightly heavier coat after a few minutes and then a wet coat which gives the shine. This is the nervy bit as the second coat may be orange peel looking, it is that wet coat that 'melts' the previous coat and gives the great finish.

It may have been beginners luck but, although not perfect, I am really happy with what I ended up with. I have never achieved a finish like this with anything else.

A beautiful build. Great finish.

I can't bring myself to use 2k, it's far too dangerous. If you breath in the mist once, your lungs are toast. Life long lasting effects. The results are of course far better than 1k and you don't need to sand if you get it right but the thought of 2k mist going through the extractor and into the garden or getting past my mask just puts me right off.

Terrific looking Toyota Graham the 2k top coat which one did you use as I've not yet managed to achieve a showroom high sheen smooth finish like yours. I've been told Tamiya clear give decent results but yet to try it as it's "hot" and maybe burns through decals. Cheers John

If you want a showroom shine You need to gear up to use 2k which is very dangerous paint or go 1k clear and add a fair few coats. In either case you need to achieve a spray pattern that is wide enough that you don't get overspray misting up your previous coats, it all has to go on nice and wet and even.

After that you may need to wet and dry the clear paint with micromesh and polish to a shine. Looks great when done though.
