Hi Everyone,

After not having built a plastic model since I was a kid I recently reacquainted myself with plastic modeling. Back in the day, my models rarely saw any paint let alone filler, sanding or weathering. I would just throw the kits together using Testors tube glue(hated that stuff), applied the decals and they were done. They were pretty crude models back then!

So after an almost 40 year hiatus this “Tilly” is my first “serious” plastic model. I learned a lot with this little guy and I still have lots more to learn. The Tilly is far from perfect, but I hope to develop the skills to be able to someday create models as amazing as some of the ones that I've seen on this forum.

I really enjoyed this build and have started on my second model, a Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire MK1. Both models will eventually become part of a diorama, also another first for me.

Below are a few photos of my Tilly. All comments are welcome and I would especially like to see some comments on how I could have made it better.

There are more photos here for anyone that might be interested.

Thanks for looking.

Ralph

I agree with the guys above Ralph, there is not a lot you could do to improve this. It is a great kit and you have done it proud.

I'm with everyone else.

You have done a fine job with this and just the right amount of weathering.

Ralph.

Great work Ralph and welcome to the forum.

Sorry but there's nothing I could say to make the Tilly better because it better than what I could produce.

What's not to love about this build? Perfectly weathered, streaking and stained in all the right places, nicely painted and modulated. Look forward to seeing it with the Spitfire.
