Testors Gates Learjet

Hey all,

Here's a quick update on one of the client builds I'm busy with. This is a Testors 1/48 Gates Jearjet. It'll be finished in a translucent black scheme with aluminium trim.

The pic below is the second of two coats Alclad gloss black primer. Tonight it'll be polished and washed, and then a coat of Alclad Airframe Aluminium will be airbrashed over it. More pics to follow...

Take care,

Quintin

Lovely gloss black finish you've achieved there, looking forward to seeing how you achieve a translucent black look. Such a beautiful aircraft, the Learjet.

Looking good. You don't see a Learjet modelled very often.

Thanks guys,

Here's an update. The gloss black has been polished down with some Micromesh 12000 grit polishing cloth, followed by Alclad Airframe Aluminium.

It'll now be sealed with a coat of Future, and then the masking exercise will begin, over the leading edges, engine intakes, around all the windows and the main door.

Will keep you posted.

Hey all,

A brief update on the Learjet.

After a little masking exercise, I covered the plane with Alclad Transparent Smoke. The result was a little darker than I had hoped, but it still turned out nicely..

Hope you like it,

Quintin

Thanks guys.

Just some last polishing left to do then on to the undercarriage.

Hopefully I'll have it finished by this weekend.

Happy modelling,

Quintin
