Something Fenlander said made me think of this idea, so we can discus whom is to blame at a later point.
If its a brilliant idea then it is mine. If its naff...... Sorry Graham
Right then. Connections. The idea is to build a set with at least two kits. Any Genre.
It could be two air craft, Two tanks, two ships/boats or any combination of them. One of each if you can be bothered. The only thing is that there has to be a PROVEN connection between the two but nothing blatantly obvious. Two things from the same maker would be to easy, so you will need to do your homework for this one.
The most extreme example I can thing of is this one.
HMS Bluebell, Blackburn Skuer. U-711. The connection? U-711 sunk HMS Bluebell and was in turn sunk by the Skuer. Ironically with a torpedo.
That is the type of idea I am after. What do you lot think could this be a good idea. Due to the minimum of two kits I would say a full year so those that go all in and build three or more also have ample time. Also I would just add no diorama. That can always be done after the build is finished

As long as there is a connection between the models they can be military, civilian or even both.... As long as the connection is proven.

They both have wheels... Nope
They have all won the Grand Prix... Nope.
"These are not the connections we are looking for".

Sounds a great idea, which means it isn't mine lol. There could be some interesting combinations although, I can't think of anything clever at the moment

Great idea Ian, so when you say Proven connection then, we cannot have a fictional connection, i.e. we make up our own story as to how the two kits are connected. For example I make 2 rally cars that didnt necessarily race together but in my diorama they are racing in a fictional race I depict? Also would two cars from say Toyota count as a proven connection?

You're already building one half of an obvious link you've mentioned in one of your recent posts .......

It's a tempting subject whoever thought it up. Now where's my thinking head?

Would two aircraft desgined by same designer be valid?
something along lines of Shackleton and Vulcan both designed by Roy Chadwick in 1946

Well I did say that things built by the same firm would be to easy, but I did not know that the designer was the same...... Although a bit thin, I would say it was ok.

No it has to be things that are real. Hence proven. The same make is also far to easy. If you want rally cars, Colin McRae drove drove for several makers, flew both aeroplanes And helicopters.... Maybe not so well as he drove.
Also I would be happy if we could avoid dioramas this time. You can always put them in one after the builds are show finished...
