Scottie - Thanks mate.

Steve - Yeah, well, as you say the Varangian was a long shot. Nothing planned re WW1.

John - Five thumbs! Than you.

Tim - Glad you like him.

Anyway, he's done:

I painted the second decoration last night, so the last session just involved painting the sash then putting him on a mount.

Very well painted Peter.... :tears-of-joy: can't help to think that he reminds me of Indian women at a wedding all decked out in gold. Makes Mr T look under decked of his trinkets.

These Napoleanic officers sure were a flashy lot.

Cheers,
Richard

John - Many thanks. A long way from perfection though.

Richard - Thanks also. Wealth obviously equated with authority in those days. Murat was the grandest - even his contemporaries thought he was OTT.

Stunning work as always Peter. The sash is particularly life like and he has a wonderful facial look about him. Good luck with the gladiator.

Hi Peter
Great finish, really looks good. The decoration and the sash are stand out items, really looking like separate items.
Should I change my name by deed poll by the way LOL....

Many thanks for all of your kind words people. I was feeling a bit 'meh' about this one, so thanks for restoring my confidence.

John - Definitely not our Mr T.

Pete - Yes, just ordinary Liquitex artist's acrylics in the tube.
