So I was working in the garden earlier when I heard the sound of a low flying jet.

Looking up I was treated to the sight of two Typhoons escorting a Hercules, followed almost immediately by what I think were four Tornados in a diamond formation, followed a minute later by a Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster.

I guess it was something to do with the Queen's birthday.

Wow, You guys are so lucky. Our little airport in Bamberg (across the way from where I live) doesn't have anything but gliders that are pulled up in the air by a slingshot devise and the company Brose's Lear jet that flies almost everyday.

10 years ago we had an airshow and I had the privilege to see a JU-52 trimotor, in civilian finish and an ME-410 prototype along with some other WWII German aircraft. No 109's or 190's though...…...

I was out walking the dogs last week when a Spitfire flew over. I was the only soul for miles around so I felt rather privileged!

This time next month will see an airshow every day for a week where I live, can’t wait to see the F-35 and A350-1000 flying for the first time.

I live fairly close to RAF Northolt so see quite a few military aircraft. The best was a string of 8 Chinooks in line formation, and the Typhoons stationed there during the 2012 Olympics. Those things are LOUD.

I'd like to see F-35 in the flesh, I've just ordered the Meng kit from John.

What a lovely surprise for you Bob!

Me and model aircraft hate each other but I love to see them in the flesh so, rather jealous of you having this awesome spectacle.

I spent three years at Lossiemouth listening to wave after wave of Tornadoes taking off all day, our hangar was close to the runway. I’m off back up there next month on holiday and looking forward to seeing these Typhoons.

I'm 7 miles from Biggin Hill, so get to see interesting aircraft fairly often. I really must go to Cosford one day.
