This will be my next project, a Young Miniatures 1/10 bust of a U-Boat crewman. The cap carries the swordfish insignia sported by U96 and U591 amongst others, so I don't think this is a specific portrait.

Clean up just took a couple of minutes and here he is Blu-tacked together:

The usual high quality product from Young B Song, with a nice U-Boat badge thrown in for decorating the base.

Hi Peter
Of course there's pressure - get at it Sir!! I am sure you will do a stunning job on what appears to be a superb sculpt. The badge for the base is a nice touch.

Richard - Speechless. You star.

John - I tried and tried, but the eyes are just not right. Apart from being different shapes, the left one has a deep pit on the inside which I just can't resolve. How the chap who did the box art got what he did I don't know, but I suspect a bit of filling was in order. Anyway, when it ceases being fun and becomes a chore.......

Morning Peter

I might be out of step finding your current work, shame this one failed the first review!

It does look very good, but if it doesn't make the grade, I do understand.

Shame you aren't closer or have a local tinkering modeller, filling, filing, scribing and shaping can be some peoples forte,

it certainly is mine,

What next?

Hopefully you have something that doesn't have too many niggles?

Regards

Hi Steve - Yes a pity I couldn't hand it over to someone to try and sort out. To be honest, my bust painting has really gone down the pan lately. I just can't get going with it - loads more failures that I haven't even posted (Verlinden, Mitches, Young Miniatures). It may be because I've been working on so much 120mm stuff recently and am having trouble adapting. - different kind of precision required?

Next up depends on the postman. I think some 1/16 Ardennes shenanigans....
