Hi all,

Yesterday was the annual Weyermann Old-timer show that fills their grounds and the surrounding Weyermann grounds with old cars, trucks, and motorcycles. It is always held on the first Tuesday in July and very well attended, with vehicles coming from all over Germany. Weyermann itself is a world famous roasting factory for malts, distilling, and other fine products. For a good idea of what they are about, see here. It's in English too!

So in conjunction with Bob's (Mr. Bowcat) Racing GB, I thought it would be a good idea to post the pics I took. There is not a lot of race cars, but the auto theme seemed fitting for all car fans and petrol heads alike. I will add a few words about what the vehicle is, but I don't have a lot of specific data such as year made, model, motor size and the like. Please enjoy the pics and please hold all comments until I have finished posting them all. It should be 4 posts worth. Thank you for your understanding, and yes, it's another excuse for not finishing my GTR yet...

The grounds inside the main factory area. Tables to sit and booths offering Bratwurst, coffee, cake, and two types of self brewed beer for your enjoyment. A Helles and Dunkles fresh from the keg,

It's alright guys........A smack on the fingers with a yardstick is pending!!!

Some great looking motors thanks mate for sharing.
Anytime Bro! it's all about sharing a good time...

What are plates with red letters in Germany? Garage plates?

Edit: sorry, posted this before I read the message above.
Exactly Jakko, they are dealer/garage plates. You need to fill out a form for the particular vehicle to use them. There are strict limitations on time and travel while using them too. They are also very expensive to get..,

Thanks for the photos Allen. Some fabulous looking cars. The sheer amount of time, money, skill and patience that goes into them does their owners real credit.

Great selection of old (and not so old) iron there Allen. More character than you can shake a stick at. Still wish some enterprising manufacturers would do a range of sit up and beg machines rather than interminable Tigers and Sherman’s…..

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post these wonderful images. Some great nostalgic memories rose to the fore of vehicles I have owned, driven or worked on. I rebuilt a Citroen DS21 Pallas in exactly the same sandy metallic colour for a customer, such an incredibly advanced car. Why do you call it a baguette?

That's an Adler Trumpf Junior.

Thank you for all the pictures, it was a pleasure to look at them.
Never heard of that company, so I read up on this. Wow, I didn’t realise cars ever had anything but steel bodies. That must be a later steel bodied version, but one of those with a wood frame covered in synthetic leather must be quite a sight….front wheel drive must have been a bit of an innovation though.

Morn All,

Thanks for the photos Allen. Some fabulous looking cars. The sheer amount of time, money, skill and patience that goes into them does their owners real credit.
You're welcome Jim! The owners are just like us, except what we build/restore is a heck of a lot cheaper than what they do in 1/1...

I guess it comes down to marketing, Tim. Over here, an old timer is a vehicle that is 25 years and older. You can see in a lot of the pics, the license plate has an H (Historical) at the end, designating this. Many of these vehicles are a offered as built, usually metal models, in different scales and such. Kits are far and few between, I'm afraid...

Some nice cars there Allen, especially the one in the 4th photo! (ps they did come in other colours, but red is best)
Pete
When I saw this sitting there, you were the only person that came to mind, Pete! There weren't a lot of Triumphs there though...

They definitely were ahead of their time, Stefan. I have a friend whose name is also Stefan, and he restored a Citroen DS with a Maserati motor for someone else. He also owned and restored an Alpine R6 and then sold it to buy a Citroen DS and restored it too. As to your question, My friend Stefan put a 2 foot long plastic baguette on the rear window sill as he thought it was very French. He's crazy and the thought just stuck in my head while posting the pics. He was on holiday, so he didn't display his Citroen at the show. If he had been there, then I would have taken a few pics of it as an explanation of 'Baguettemobile'...

That's an Adler Trumpf Junior.

Thank you for all the pictures, it was a pleasure to look at them.
You are welcome Andi and thanks for the name of the car. I didn't notice any name on it at the time, as he was still restoring it a bit. BTW, where abouts in Bayern do you live? I'm in Ober Franken, but I think you know where Bamberg is...

Thank you for posting, Allen. A very enjoyable time spent perusing them.
John.
Anytime John and I'm glad you enjoyed them. There were a lot of others that I would have loved to get pics of, but it got very crowded and you couldn't even get a clear shot...

Thanks again everyone and I'm glad you enjoyed the pics of the show. Have a great week!!!

Of course I know where Bamberg is. But I rarely go to Franken. I used to have a friend in Würzburg, but I think I never was in Bamberg.
I live in Niederbayern, a little way out in the Bavarian Forest (Lkrs Regen).

Thanks for the pics. Red VW convertible was just like my wife's back in the day. Restored a couple Detomaso Panteras back when working on used European cars. Black & silver 61 Vette has to be very rare. They had the most powerful production 283cu. in. small block.
