Minicraft 1/144 C-121 Super Connie in the colors of MATS -US NAVY

It was a really basic kit, but the righthand side fuse was very bably warped....had to work it into position.

I tried alclad but in this small scale it didn't look right so I went for a normal silver with some wash and it gave me a better "aluminium" look to it.

Decals went on quite nice (about the only nice thing in this kit!)

My first micro scale plane, still allot to learn!

Always loved the Constellation, the lines and tri-rudder config. Awesome work and she looks gorgeous.

Interesting thinf with the Connie's tri-tail is that it had enough directional stability yet still fit in the hangers that the DC-7's used by TWA had.

Thanx.

Silver followed by a coat of future, sanded with 8000 , then decals then alclad sheen clearcoat to tone it down a tad.
