Fell upon this in the stash. Seems to have been just started. Non-skid flooring & floor assy installed & a couple decals attached. A sprue view only as Trident offers no box art as a rule. Will search for other Pioneer elements as it appears I've assigned this to the 4th co. 2nd pltn. as the 2nd Flam. PaulE

Progress pics. Usually deployed as 6 to 8 vehicle platoons within pioneer companies, thus the 425 option to portray the pltn. size better.

Coming along nicely Paul. Just checked my stash, never bought any of this variant and now I'm wondering why?

Dunno Rick. Has the same shortcomings of 251 line by Trident; rear door fit, & 250 front wheels & tires. Other than those it's pretty well done. PaulE

Found my pioneers. They don't all look done. Looks like I left room for 422/2nd flam. to go with 251/7s & 'stukaonfoot'. They are carrying reloads for Hvy weapons platoon 251/9 'stummels'. The sdkfz 7 & trailer carry reloads for SOFs.

She's getting there. A formidable looking piece of equipment. Did these come with an aux. trailer for extra ignition material?

No, they just had the fuel tanks inside the hull. I’m not sure how they were refuelled, but probably from a regular tanker or with jerrycans.

Thank you gentlemen. Xactly. They didn't like the trailer idea. The flam panzer IIs, IIIs, & Hetzers all used the same basic method & stored the fuel internally. The text always seems to describe the fuel as something other than just plain fuel oil or gasoline so sourcing it would be unique. The pioneer supply section would be the logical place as they also had the hand held flame throwers.
Plates of fresh cookies are on the speaker towers Dzohn.

It wasn’t the American-style thickened fuel that really made flamethrowers into a realistic weapon, though, as far as I know. Maybe it could be produced in the field with about the same amount of ease?

/me does a little research

They apparently used Flammöl 19 (“Flame Oil 19” — note it’s Flamm-öl, not Flam-möl :smiling3:) which was a mixture of petrol (gasoline) and tar, but it’s hard to find the mix ratio.

It's looking the business though. I remake the doors from evergreen for a more exact fit.
Takes a little longer but worth it to me. Rick H.

Working in this size must be frustrating when things that small do play the game Paul .

Very nice Paul, that's a nicely balanced late war camo job. Can't wait to see how you do on the Nebels.

This is it for the 251/16s. I only planned on two for the Pioneer element seen earlier in this thread. There is a full company of 251s of several types in various stages of completion plus some /3s attached to arty units left to be completed. PaulE
