Hello,

Here's my recently completed Airfix Bf109 E-3. Great little starter set with really nicely fitting parts that I picked up for the grand price of £2.99 in Aldi a few months ago!

There's no aerial mast - I broke it and can't really be bothered to replace it. The kit comes with some small pots of Humbrol acrylic paint [including 31 Slate Grey, 65 Aircraft Blue and 117 US Light Green] and I used 65 and 117 for the blue and green parts of the finish [but I mixed both with some white to lighten the colours, especially the blue] and mixed my own grey because I didn't like the look of the Slate Grey. I also used the new matt varnish from Tamiya which worked great.

A really great, clean build of a neat little kit.

You can always fashion the aerial mast out of plastic strip cut to length and shaped.

God stuff

Top job! That's a great 109, excellent paintwork & weathering. I'm really impressed.

But another Emil? Paul, Alan & now Matt in quick succession  time to put mine back in the cupboard!

Cheers

Great job. I Like seeing little 1:72's being built. We all seem to get wrapped up in larger scale stuff these days, it's nice to get back to where it all started - 1:72.

Thanks for the comments! It's a great little kit, I also bought an Airfix 1/72 Spit Mk1a from Aldi that I'm hoping to start next!

Great Emil. No way you'd think that was £2.99, that's Starfix and PM territory!
