Hello,

I am making this at the moment and wanted to put it on a stand wheels up, but either I am missing a bit or the nosegear just cannot be displayed up. Oh it goes in OK, but the wheel bay flaps are attached in such a way I cannot figure out how the end bulkheads they connect to will not extrude below the fuselage.

Has anyone made this model and seen the same problem at all?

Thanks,

Neil

I Have not built one of these but some aircraft models need a bit of cutting and trimming to do them wheels up.

Hopefully a member with insider knowledge with be able to help

I'll add a pic when I get a chance to show the issue, but yeah I suspect I will need to do something. It is a pretty old kit I think.

Can you fashion some gear doors from plastic card? May be easier than surgery to the existing parts.

And just fill the wheel bay with blu tak etc. to help in positioning the doors.

Good ideas, I was thinking of doing that now. I need a rod of some kind to mount it on, so I'll do some online shopping for card to go with it - well it just does not make any sense to just get a rod right?, wonder what kits are on sale.....

A couple of pics to show how badly these doors fit:
