Hi folks here is another offering from my desk, i have been messing around with water effects and decided to put this old e boat in a dio. The ground work is celluclay painted in ultramarine blue and white the slicone sealant over the top, this is stippled with the back of a plastic spoon to create the further wave effect and then painted. I hope you like it and as usual any and all comments are welcome be they good or bad.

Terrific build Scott...Should keep the people more than interested at the Battle of the Atlantic anniversary

Very nice study. Careful mind, this silicone sea is catching????

Cheers,

Ron

Scott, I think the material and the painting effects have both worked very well and there is definately an air of exitement about the piece, which is obviously exactly what you want to portray.

Just a thought to help future projects, it is worth studying real photographs of boats at speed to help you identify the behaviour of the water around a boat as it passes through it. The bow wave and the wake are very distinctive shapes and if you can get the shape closer to reality it will really bring the model to life.

Put "Torpedo Boat" into Google Images, you will get lots of good examples but here is one worth studying:

Very impressive Scott, I don't know much about military ships/boats but this is certainly a superb diorama, well done!
