I have just finished balancing a batch of spare props for my flight box,out of every check only one in a batch of 12 props was anything like near in balance, the rest were miles out, unbalanced props can cause all sorts of problems including the dreaded vibration which destroys airfames and radio gear.

Invest in a knife edge balancer it will repay the costs time and again, you can also balance your spinner but to be quite honest I have not found a good way to perform this task but I am working on it.

You will notice a big difference with the smoothnes of running of your engines after balancing them.

For the light blade add clear varnish or if on the field carry a pot of correction fluid which dries instantly, try to add before you take off material otherwise you could be surprised how much material that you need to take away.
