Nice job Theuns, love the little dio.

The aircraft you have done belonged to 2./JG27 and was normally flown by Fw. Franz Elles. There is a well known picture of this aircraft flying along the Libyan coast which is very often MIS-captioned as being Werner Schroer. Schroer's log book shows that he only flew this aircraft twice.

It's not Marseille's either,it's the wrong Staffel. Marseille remained with 3./JG27 in North Africa. We know of three, possibly four,Emils that Marseille flew in North Africa before JG27 converted to the F series. His first F he used briefly before he was sent on sick leave to Athens and we don't know much about it. On his return he started to fly his well known series of "Yellow 14"s.

Cheers

Steve

Really good work there, Theuns! The 109 is very well done as is the dio base. It gives a lovely snapshot into the work being done.
