Just wondering if anyone knows of any manufacturers who might model construction model kits. I'm thinking of jcb type stuff. Would make great dioramas
Dapol have an old JCB type in their range.
Hasegawa has a great model....
1/35 HITACHI CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY ASTACO NEO DOUBLE ARM WORKING MACHINE
Isn't that the old - very old - one that Airfix originally did on a low loader railway wagon? And have you seen the prices those are fetching nowadays? I'm sure I saw one on ebay a week or so back for £27!
Edit: I just remembered that our Ron did a smashing little JCB a couple of years ago. I'm sure it was the Dapol kit he used and there's no way he'd pay such silly prices! Maybe he knows something we don't?
We've been here before Rob, moaning about the lack of construction equipment kits. There are some around, but they're few and far between, fetch really silly prices sometimes and there don't appear to be any ranges of kits available in a consistent scale.
Mind you, as Rick says, Kibri do make loads of stuff so maybe they have some. It's not anything I'd use though as it's all 1/87 scale as far as I know - much too small for me.
Hattons are selling the Dapol JCB for £7.
I've been hunting around for a reasonably priced 1/35 construction model for years with no luck. So some good leads there, thanks.
If it's of any help, here's the Dapol 1/72 JCB I built that Dave mentioned. Nice little kit.

Cheers,
Ron
I remember that little smasher! Didn't you manage to sell it?
Can I ask is it 1/72 Ron? I seem to remember the early Airfix armour kits were 1/76 and their train stuff was OO/HO which I think is a mixture of 1/72 and 1/87.
Yes i might have to look at that dave!Hey Tony! Are you reading this?
As Dave say's Meng D9R is a nice kit, i got the one without the armour, it has a nice ripper on the back.
Steve.
If it ain't 1/35 scale or up I can't even see the damn thing.
Found this 1/25 scale D8 Cat, great model, needed quite a bit of clean up and included no hydraulic or water or fuel lines (these I made from practical experience since I own several
pieces of heavy equipment).
AMC/ERTL made this one.
