Started this one just into the new year and completed it recently. Really enjoyed the build and I have a couple more versions in the stash. Made an attempt at detailing up the engine with some HT leads although they can't be seen on the completed model. Main colours are Tamiya with a supporting cast of Vallejo, enamels and oils. Here are the pics.

Beautiful work Nick!!! Such a superb red finish without a flaw. A quick question if may...How did you do the wood grain in the bed? it's perfect!!! A totally fine build Sir...

That's great Nick. A great finish. Like Allen I am very impressed with the wood effect. I can just see it as part of the parade at a vintage vehicle show.

Impeccable build sir, especially impressed with the wood and wheels/tyres.
Please elucidate on how you did the wood as I will need to do some on the interior of a camper van fairly soon.

Thanks for all the likes and kind comments guys. Really appreciated.

The wood grain was done with an initial coat of Tamiya Buff, followed by working with various oils on top. I think the oil colours were Burnt Siena and Van Dyke Brown. I laid the oils on in a fairly random way and after they'd been left for a few hours, worked and blended them with a dry or slightly damp wide flat brush.

I can't really claim too much credit for this, I watched a few Utube videos first... :smiling2:

True Rick. I will have a play with acrylics first and if it doesn't fly, I'll hit it with oils as I do like the results you get from them...
