Flying Fortress- Italeri or Revell?

Well the B17 alone on amazon right now is £22.99 so if that is the same (and it looks like it just a different colour scheme) then that sounds like a bargain!

Another 'modern' 1/72 B-17 is the Academy kit. I think there are three versions, a very early one with the older-style tail and glazing, a B-17F and the B-17G. I believe they also have the different tail turrets. The only problem with the Academy kit is the dihedral of the wings, but is easily rectified using plastic inserts.

I have both the ancient Airfix G and the newer Academy F. Worlds apart in detail. The Academy also gives you extra propeller blades for different versions in the one box, a wee bonus if you needed to raid them for something else later. Also probably cheaper than the Revell or other brands making new tool versions of the Flying Fortress.

On a Google there are a lot more reviews of the 1/48 version (which I would prefer) or the HKM 1/32 kits that I would love to build, if I had the space!!!
