As the title says i am doing the part work victory i currently have it painted in gloss but would matt be better?

Personally I'd go for a Matt finish Peter.

Thanks very much i shall be off to the model shop next week for a couple of gallons of matt black and yellow

I don't know whether or not you've visited the victory in Protsmouth or not Peter ..... But just for reference the yellow on the ship is more of a "Banana Yellow" rather than a bright yellow......... Of course you could paint her "Red" which was the original colour before she ended up with the Red & Yellow.

That looks more authentic in God colours you have ? Going by the paintings of the victory,


However I know different artist use different shades and lighting with there paintings but I think ( personally ) it's spot on
