What ever IS/JS dont think I've had lack of mojo more rather build than paint this started with the KV1bolt on armour ekrami?

Really enjoyed it at home with my beloved 72nd scale in fact still enjoying just looking at my handy work not that eager to prime up its a special so need my special frame of mind. So into the stash and pulled the two IS/JS's both more or less OOB

Sorry no box/sprue shots but both very few parts have just pottered along keeping them to myself up untill now. Have cleared the work bench and set up a/b and compressor ready to prime wich should happen any time soon. Love the seven think its a hansom beast as for the three some time back on here I built the Roden kit (because Roden was about to be hung by the anti flash and poorly fitting parts association) just to show if you put in you get out

Hoping I can do the trumpeter version justice as well ,dont hold your breath but will bring progress as and when thanks all Dave.

What ever IS/JS
It’s actually “ИС” ;)

Nice way to show the lineage, going from a KV-1 via an IS-3 to an IS-7. If you paint the others as well as you did the -3 it will be very nice :smiling3:

Very nicely done. With pe that neat it does, as John says, seem a shame to paint it but painted up they'll be a fine trio.

And this after washing up and packing away ,thinned the 4BO with that transparator stuff could have thinned a bit more I think but live and learn also found out there's a matt transparator I got the glossy one doh! Says dries in fully in 24 hours so were see.

Wasn't that impressed with my paint job but have started to muck about with it now ,got a couple of filter coats down and have roughly blocked the tracks in and picked a few highlights ,bit happier now

Pleased with the cast effect work I added to the turret and front plate was totally smooth I put the torch cuts and weld seams on ,I'll have another little dabble am then I might clear coat before really setting about it in my usual manner . Dave

Can't see why you're asking for help Dave. You seem to be managing perfectly well as you are! :smiling:

I'm not asking for help Dave perhaps it came across wrong ,just expressing how I feel about it so far ,we all have a perception of how its supposed to be but I'm ok but not where I'd like to be ,my final picture of the end product is just dropping short at the moment. Stupid things like in the top pic just to the left of the external fuel tanks there's a little bin/panel with a nice looking paint chip well it is the paint just lifted straight off the primer this throws the whole thing in doubt but have decided as its still quite sheene I'll decal the turret and satin clear coat the whole thing before making my next move. Dave

As mentioned above put the decals on the turret and put to one side then in a rash move thought sod it so threw some green at the JS/IS7 then as the caffeine hit slowed realised the whole plan was to get on and varnish the JS/IS3 ,I'm always loath to actually recommend a product rather say this is how I found/used it the rest is up to you if you fancy giving it a go but the VMS varnishes are brilliant ,straight out of the bottle lash and I mean lash it on(as per their YouTube vid)you can see from the pic how good it is never had a problem I used their satin one on the JS3 doesn't appear that satiny but still its a great product fool proof. Leaving them to sit till tomorrow now ,still you can bet now their ring and ask if I fancy coming in for the day cant complain tops up the pension.

Couple of filter coats has knocked back the bright green a bit on the IS7 hoping that working on two at once will help with my impatience can do one whilst other is drying....

Squadron.
Armada apparently!
Nah, there’s not enough of those to make a group of them of any real size. And the Russians aren’t willing to risk that anyway, given that after two years none of them have yet been seen anywhere near Ukraine.
