This build will be new territory for me as have never built any Modern 1/72 Model before. I like the 1/72 scale European Modern Millitary Models so I thought I would start with this one. Bare with me as I build the very intense “to me” model. It’s a Skill level 4 but for me I feel it’s a 7. Here we go.

Nice, I built this in 1:35 (also from Revell) when it was new, this kit looks about as intricate but at half the size. Did you know you can finish this as a US Army vehicle in the desert in 1991? Would need to replace the smoke launchers, though, by the same type as on the M1 Abrams.

US Army vehicle in the desert in 1991?
Thanks Jakko I did not know that I might go that route. It is quite the little nightmare but I’m powering through it. I’ll go research the Dessert Storm version thanks again for the heads up.

Hope the family are well .

John thanks for stopping by have a front row seat by Andrew and Jakko I was going to say that the TET glue is a lifesaver building this kit with its small brush tip that’s why it’s in some of the pics.

Lots of parts on a little beastie Lee. Should be a fun build.
Tim lots of little bits indeed. This will be a first for me building a 1/72 with so many parts. It’s been quite challenging but I’m getting the hand of it as I go along slowly. Thanks for stopping by grab a seat by John to keep him from getting into mischief.

Very nice. Lots of detail on that one. Do you find you get your “eye” in after working in a smaller scale for a while? I find that after a time what seemed tiny suddenly seems normal.

In American service it’s known as the M93 Fox, but was only used in the NBC recce version like you’re building here. The first ones were supplied by Germany in late 1990 because of fears the Iraqis would use chemical weapons, and the US didn’t have a good equivalent vehicle of its own. There’s some background and a number of photos here.

Looks like you have adjusted very well to the smaller scale. The build looks neat and sorted. Maybe you'll develop a real liking for 1/72.

Thanks Jakko for the leg work while searching yesterday I seen where the US called it the M93. Still on the fence what to make it.

Thanks Jim. I’ve always liked 1/72 scale I’ve built several but not at this skill level. Maybe your right this might be a new thing for me upgrading my skill level. Glad you stopped by.

You won't have the correct parts to do the US M93 NBC as the top & rear are configured differently as well as the US tools, M2 50 cal. & smoke. The "Hummel" is an Electronic Warfare version of the BW Fuchs Eloka, with a complex antennae array & aux. generator not used by the US to my knowledge.

Jim thanks for the complement. Yes I’ve always liked the 1/82 scale just my eyes and hands don’t. I’ve been taking my time with this and enjoying it. When my hands start hurting I stop.

Thanks for the info Paul. I have two different tops I’m going with the one with the turret option.
