well Patrick I can say that this kik is just a dream fit wise and has nice detail,

good pick Monica that is the same kit that I built and a pleasure it was -enjoy .

it real is a nice kit to work on,

Looks good moni , a nice whitewash over olive green and some rust powders would make it look great

was thinking along these lines Alan,and its been some time since I have done one,so mmite take a bit the get the eyes back in to it,

As far as I know Moni spray it with an olive rattle can and chuck some mud at it. That's what all the the other armour modellers do!!

sounds like a good plan Richard,I will just leave it out side were the magpies are and that will give it a nice wash,:rolleyes:

Hope you go with the rubber band tracks, those sectional/ridged things are just awful. Track sag is very important with this particular vehicle, and there are ways to make the naughty snakes behave:eek:.....Jim

well Jim I was heading more towards the linkable ones,


as they do have sag in them,


as you said both do have good detail in them,


will do a look and ask about both I think,and see which ones i do like better,


as the rubber band ones do look hard to tame and in the past have not had a real lot of luck with,:rolleyes:

I think the link & length tracks come with pre-formed sag

your right Patrick they are per-formed and look good in my eyes so far ,


at the moment i,m leaning towards them,

got a bit done this morning before i need to go out for the day,


primed in re/brown and then some Russian green on the lower hull,


fitted the road wheel and gave then a coat of green before weathering the lower hull


before the guards and tracks go on, see see real how much i need to do,


I do like the looks of the linkable tracks over the rubber ones,


and I think the sag they have in hem is ok for my liking ?


so what do you lads think about the sag ?

and were and how to have the two joins to be able to paint then put back on ? :eek:


or I know this may seam ,not the right thing to do but how about use the rubber part around the ends,where the drive wheel and the front ones are ?????

Don't think mixing the two is wise, vinyl tracks are notorious for not accepting glue, I use a mixture of "Plastruct" and Testors plastic cement and never get consistent results having at times to re-do track sag. Once your committed to one or the other, stick with it............Jim

To me indy- tracks are the pits, very frustrating, you never end up getting it just right at the last joining point and if you have to clean each one:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

If I was you Moni, I'd add the individual links to the bottom track run at either end. Then while the glue is still taking hold ( about 10 minutes with Revell Contacta) bend them around the drive & idler sprockets.


Once the glue has fully cured, you can then add the upper track run & if there's any problems, it'll be covered by the front & rear mudguards.
