Gotta love an "Eagle".... My favourite Sci Fi craft, superb looking things ,
You've made an excellent job of this one Del, very nice indeed.... certainly no signs of the problems that you mentioned .

Very nice Del, I've always fancied building an 'Eagle' but never got around to grabbing one and going for it, I'm sure I've built the 'Hawk, many many years ago, for some reason I'm thinking it was released by Airfix, but not sure, ... it's just a faded memory nowadays.
