Hi all.
Here I will explain a method to paint a wood build. (Maybe is not the best one, but is what I use and want to share with all you..... so comments or suggestions are welcome)
The first step is, with balsa wood or similar, build a door, a hut, a garage....or what you need for your diorama
Or...... go to your mum house and stole one of her doors ( from the dolls house) ......
Remember is much better if the wood has a clear color.

With a modelling tool I sand some parts.

Take a cutting and do some cuts on the wood (weathered)

With raw umber (oil colour) and white spirit, I do my own wash.

Once dry, I do a final dark brown wash.

Ok!now you need to choice your colour!
For this thread I use a red colour.
If you see, I don't use any acrilyc or enamel paint....
This time I use ink colours, soluble with alcohol (cleaner usage)
Sorry, now see I have take the photo with the green color....

So imagine now, this hut or build is loked in a very damp place....
With the green colour (ink) I paint streaking grimes
With more intensity on the lower part....the water and dampness usually goes down....

With Alclad II (steel) I paint the 'iron' parts....

Then if you want can do a little rust wash

Well.....we have now a beautiful garden door.....

Hope this can help you all!!
