did that a few years back.............main prob i found was that the wheels go into the arches a bit too much, look a little lost and of course the slick tyres


look forward to seeing how you progress with it


this is another kit i wish revell would reissue

Hi Paul, yes the Slick tyres are not right for a rally car should be the chunky tyres on this.


Belkits are bringing out Timo Makinens RAC RALLY Winning Mk.1 RS1600 later this year :smiling3: :smiling3:.

Having won a couple of trophies on Road Rallies & walking miles into a forest in the dead of night to watch rally cars back in the 70s I know there is only 2 kinds of rally cars...


Shiny or covered in so much Mud you cannot tell the colour of the car, or read the sponsors decals... :D :D.


Ive not decided yet which way to go LOL.

Nice one John great start. As for the paint just use a spay can of the Halfords colour you want and wax it

Thanks Ian, but for health reasons I don't use Spray Cans & so only airbrush with Acrylic paints..

Looks good I've owned that many mk2 and mk1 escorts it's obscene lol I remember building this kit years ago but wasn't a revell kit was made by Esci body was moulded in clear plastic, good to see this finished with mini lites or a set of sport wheels

It will be on minilites but with slick tyres :sad: :sad:.

I know you can get wheels on ebay to suit the mk2 not sure on the scale though
