Evening all we have just finished our next fighter in mine and my sons favorite fighters stash.

This is a old think 1970's revell P51 Mustang Texan terror IV in 1:72 scale.

for an old it it was really nice to build no flash and the parts went together well.

The only thing we didn't like was the invasion strips which I had hours of fun doing (not lol)

We really enjoyed this build and liked the paint scheme. We are improving and learning new things every build one day I may have a class act like everyone else on here.

Looking good, like I tell my kids just remember it's not something you can suddenly be good at!

Are you using enamels, looks like the white&black on the invasion stripes needs to be mixed more? I fell into the trap of trying to paint with the thick stuff at the bottom of the tin on the first few.

Crikey that is an old kit, but you guys have done a good job on it.

thanks Joe we like to save some pennies and get mainly old kits of feebay it's hit and miss some go together well and some not so.

Ian yeah we used enamels the white was horrible mixed for a good five minutes and shook the tin till both off use had dead arms lol but had to put about 3 coats of it on to get a full coverage the it bleed through the masking (dads fault? me not so sure but gave in) on to the black it was not my most enjoyable part of the the build lol.

Hi Paul I think it's great that you and you son share an interest I can't get my son away from his xbox. I brought him two of the snap together kits he did do one and realised it wasn't for him .regards John

Exactly John. We could go on about the weird shape of the Revell nose or the over scale drop tanks, but frankly... who cares? You're both enjoying the hobby and some quality bonding time. It's so easy to get hung up on accuracy, detail, flawless finishes - and miss the point that it should just be enjoyable.
