I couldn't wait to start this one it's basically the same as a TV Daleks build but with the bigger movie base, claw and the larger dome lights.
Here's what I got in the box.P1050218.JPGP1050219.JPGP1050220.JPGP1050221.JPGP1050222.JPGP1050223.JPGP1050224.JPGP1050225.JPG

I'm in. :smiling3:

Daleks terrified me as a kid, until I realised they couldn't get up the stairs. :D

That's Ok, by the time they could I was grown up and got my firearms licence.

Any dalek that comes up my stairs now is going to get a face full of 7.62 FMJ.

Hi Peter
You certainly like variety - Bullfinches to Daleks. I remember them on TV as a child - stuff of nightmares back then.

Serious kit this, a bit like assisted scratchbuilding rather than kit building. Nice challenge to have, needs lots of techniques so will be fun....

oh, vac formed bits - don't tend to see much of them anymore

As Tim says, more like scratch building

1/5 should make it a reasonable size - should be good

Hi Peter
Vacuum molded parts are often awkward to work with. Your cutting looks neat :thumb2:

Next up I will be starting to construct the skirt section but before that there is a couple of things to attend first one is every hemisphere has a small dimple that has the go and the next is every panel has to be given an angel on each edge and all of them will have to be filled.
I did find a bit of mismoulding on one corner of the base but as this piece won't be used I won't matterWP_20180908_17_31_55_Pro.jpgWP_20180908_17_33_24_Pro.jpgWP_20180908_17_45_08_Pro.jpgWP_20180908_18_15_11_Pro.jpgWP_20180908_18_51_08_Pro.jpgWP_20180908_18_27_53_Pro.jpg

Just finished off with middle section all painted and with the stick chrome on the slats and lower band.
And a test fitting with the skirt section.WP_20180912_17_15_46_Pro.jpg
