Finally after a year this ones done ! This is the SMER reboxing of the KP tooling , with AM decals for the Polish air force grey ghost scheme. The decals feature a tribute to Stefan Stec ,a famous polish ace pilot, said to have helped form the first Polish air force . The decals feature his insignia , a sideways on eight with a four pointed star plus a side profile of his Fokker eV which should go on the drop tanks but the tanks in the kit are the smaller capacity ones so they didnt get used. Build thread can be found here https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threads/smer-1-48-sukhoi-su-22m4-in-polish-service.38237/ Heres the pictures including one with its great grandad , the Su 7 , which shows how this aircraft developed . Thanks for looking , comments etc welcome , cheers tony0CCC3F0F-C81E-451B-940F-62DD865FC75C.jpeg6BA6F3C6-F548-4F53-9F8F-D24F7D7D29BA.jpeg8AA4A88D-EECE-4C75-A9AE-F78C3199343C.jpegD0C21BE8-BEE4-4D9D-B2C7-E67DCE59D59E.jpeg5684109B-AC71-44EA-A609-EE9E2913DAFE.jpeg979ADC4B-21B8-490B-A9B4-9091271FBD98.jpeg63D87548-3915-42B0-9EC8-3A670263C989.jpeg12A65BFE-FF32-4FD1-B86E-C32645B7626D.jpeg41001F7B-3FF0-4451-B493-62C851DCAFEB.jpeg3AE562E1-6ACF-44D6-88BC-7DF2C4DE7E34.jpegEA9103A4-7D6C-4DB8-A70B-02E7B82B8BDD.jpegB8755D7B-5BF4-48EF-BA38-B7EB48AB1A0C.jpeg3FC913BB-8C9A-4FCF-909A-11C231BD4ED1.jpegE7AEE7AB-D5B3-4581-993F-98271D7F6207.jpegB7A58FDA-5B56-46E7-9046-D84480E5D9D9.jpegFFFAFFC3-BEE5-42E6-BF10-66F752A540A6.jpeg03419B05-D022-49F8-9C56-350696A2C1CF.jpegC3EFBF9A-A773-498D-B544-2E96578477BC.jpeg2A7D86A4-C38D-47B3-B571-BA4DF4E307BE.jpeg5140423F-EAF0-4A0D-9641-B08B5890C4EE.jpeg

That is superb Tony. A truly great finish. A real tribute to a special Polish man. All the more remarkable given the kit is not the best.

Love it Tony, excellent job indeed the extra details youve done really add to it. Love the look of anything with that nose intake, makes me wanna dig mine out the stash, ill be doing the non 500decal version though lol.

What a terrific model, Mucker!

I'm not a fan of modern jets, but I know a quality build when I see one - And this has it in spades.

....and all those decals!

Very well done.

Well Tony, what can I say!!! Like Ron, I'm not a fan of modern jets either, but this is a work of art. The side by side with its dad was a nice touch too. I guess there is only one thing left to do now Sir...

You need to make a chart with the translations of all the decals for us. We know Nie Stawach = No Step, so how about the other 480 of them. Come on Buddy, it would only take about 6 weeks to do and inquiring minds want to know what they mean!!!..........

Wow Tony, truly stunning. Superb!!
Cheers Rob
Wow thanks alot everyone , glad you like it , It was a slow one though , I just hit a brick wall ( made up of 400 odd stencils !) but im glad i got through it as its such a fabulous aircraft - not a classic good looker but a very purposeful no nonsense machine . @Allen , I’m not sure about the rest of the stencils , half of them are probably on back to front or upside down ! What I think most of them say is this

In Polish of course :smiling5:

Beautiful work, Tony! Su-7/17 line is one of my favorite Cold War aircraft lines and you've done it justice! I have 8 different 7/17 versions in my stash, so I guess it's about time to build some more :D

Thanks Seb , its one of my faves too , it wasnt till I got the Su7 out for comparison that I remembered how much I enjoyed that build , its such an important cold war aircraft in all its developments . Ive still got my absolute favourite in the stash yet though- the Yak 28 p Firebar in 1/48

Well worth all the effort you put into this Tony. Had to fire up the big old computer to see it in all it's glory. Excellent!

That looks most impressive. Those KP people have certainly moved on a bit. But then of course it needs someone who can really make the model stand out, as you have done. Brilliant work old boy.

How did I not see this before?
Not a bird I know, and maybe not the best looking one either but top notch work. Excellent paint and rather you than me with those stencils!
