I just can't see the fascination for Black and I don't think the 300sl would suit it. Why not go for a dark blue like this one

That with a cream interior would look really nice. But hey, it's your model and your choice.


Build looking great so far, that framework is quite a job on its own. Keep up the good work.

Don't understand weekday dogs dougie.


I started with a matt black, rubed it down to distress it, dry brush with silver metalic, and pick out detail rust with brown.

All my paints for engine and mechanics are humbrol enamel.


For body work I'm going down the acrylic route. Gasp.....

Not sure probably not. The frame was weathered to look like a frame would look as its always hidden and the majority of the road grime would rust it like a real tube subframe of the era.


The rest of the car like body work etc is going to be as a cherished sports car would be.
