I always keep strictly to the thinners provided by the paint manufacturer.

They have designed their paint using their thinners. No point in taking a risk especially as the amount of thinners used is negligible compared to the cost.

Ammonia based windscreen washer fluid or window cleaner, (Windex), IF you can get the ammonia based stuff! I've yet to find any in the UK.

Personally I would day it's not a good thinner for acrylic, ok for cleaning the ab afterwards.

If you buy IPA in litre bottles it's not expensive, just over £10

I agree with M1ks, I thin with IPA purchased from Ebay too.

I do however almost exclusively clean my airbrush with Halfords screenwash it costs about £5 a gallon and lasts ages, I think its about 30% IPA. I did try it to thin both Tamiya paint and Mr Hobby color but found it seemed soapy and the paint lost some adhesion (plus I couldn't convince myself that the bright green colour didn't taint the paint colour slightly)
