Hi all
Here she is at last. The subject was an Avenger Mk1 White X/376 (JZ114) from 848 squadron from HMS Formidable in 1945.
The kit has loads of good detail but requires care in assembly as parts fit is quite tight in some places. I certainly got bogged down during the build….came out allr in the end.

Wow!!.... Those extra pics show it off well ....
The shots in the "under construction" thread looked good, but this set really does make the finesse of your painting pop right out....
Top,top stuff Tim:thumb2:

Very kind Andy. Not really much finesse there apart from using the airbrush as a brush rather than just a spray device…..and you’ve conveniently ignored the varnish run on the prop as well…..

Thing of beauty? Should have gone to specsavers LOL.
Very kind of you nonetheless Neil.
Yep, FAA was always going to be my aim for this one. I have a Skua in the stash, but they never got used in the pacific :disappointed2:

Very nice, Tim. Love the FAA markings and the folded wing. Really sets the model apart.
John.
Cheers John. I think of them as the FAAs “don’t shoot me” markings. In the Atlantic theatre they had a normal roundel I think. The wingfold was a must in this case because it’s so different to any other aircraft. Also means it fits better in the cabinet LOL……

Lovely model, Tim and that torpedo is really outstanding, it deserves a mirror-base.
Very kind Andy. As I said in the build log, it’s one of the few bits that didn’t have any problems during the build. Not putting it on a mirror base though, mostly because I don’t have one…..

Came out really looking nice Tim. I like that it's not all dark navy blue with stars which makes it different.

Cheers,
