Kinda like a flying "Banana"High Visibility is the rule of the day on emergency vehicles so put your shades down Tony and model on...Looking forward to the next update.
Transparencies now all fitted . After removing from the sprue and cleaning up I decided to paint all the edges of the clear parts with black to reduce the silvering /distortion effect once glued . Theyve now all been fitted and dont look too bad at all. A little bit of clean up might be required once the glue has set but I’m quite pleased with how they went. Next up is painting the windscreen divider and fitting the seperate windscreen wipers .BTW , looking at the sprues its apparent that this is a matchbox tooling ( square section sprues and a PK number ) from about 1988 I believe , so its not a bad fit for a 35 year old tooling !
Sorry Tony, really late to the party here as I couldn't find my Ray-Bans anywhere. Great job Sir and the oldie is looking most excellent!!! The kit that is, not you.........
Good progress today . The windscreen divider has been masked and painted and the wipers glued on . The tail rotor has been fitted and detailed with some extra connecting rods , thanks to some great photos supplied by Joe ( flyjoe180). The landing skids and grab handles ( or are they aerials?) on the rear fuselage have been painted black.
Its now had the decals put on and looking at the decal placement pictures I realised there should be two windows on the rear clamshell doors . The kit doors are solid with no indication of any window so I decided to represent these with some black decal from the spares box , cut to shape. The main rotor has also been painted and given a wash to highlight the mechanism .
Well im calling it done , a few little final bits - tidying up the panel line accents and fitting the aerial above the windscreen ( paintbrush bristle ) -and its ready for the first 999 call. Heres a couple of pics to round off the thread , more coming in the completed section . Thanks to all who have been watching and thanks to @flyjoe180 ( Joe )for the reference pics .
