This afternoon, after several months, I've finished my VFS 1/24 P-47. She's a sizeable beast! I used different shads of Alclad aluminium for the NMF finish, weathered with Promodellers Dark Dirt, Tamiya Smoke, and black/brown mix oil washes. I used Zotz 'Silver Screen Jugs' decals to represent 'Miss Fire/Rozzie Geth II' flown by Lt Fred Christensen. The only other addition was Eduard late war USAAF seat belts. On the whole, a good model, but with several annoying/challenging episodes!

Nice finish there Snapper. Who makes/made the kit I've not seen it before in that scale!

Very well painted and weathered.

Thanks Ian; made by a UK company called Vintage Fighter Series; I got this from their stand at Telford.

Absolutely beautiful. I love the finish and weathering but the engine and internal details are top class. I do like 1/24th scale as you can get so much into them and this a superb example of what can be done.

Can you put together some more pictures, particularly of the internal details? Wonderful model.

Very nice job,I know this is not a straight forward build to do!

There's some interesting stuff, including some of Christensen's reports here.
