Westland Lysander, Orlik 4/2014, 1:33 Scale, Card Model

I would like to present my latest build:

The model is by Orlik, and is a 1:33 scale card model. Pretty much built straight out of the box. Only extra work was to the engine and headlights.

It's been a long build over eight months. But seems to have turned out okay.

This is a card model?! 'Seems to have turned out OK' is something of an understatement. I don't know how you've achieved all those complex curves in card, and the interior looks brilliant.

Hi Tom. Looks really good and out of card amazing. Built a plastic one and they are lovely aircraft to have on the shlf.

A real ugly duckling but graceful as well. Lovely gull wings and despite being on paper obsolete the craft did so many things and in my eyes a hereo for that.

Very nice model.

Wow, that is amazing work in card. Looks fantastic, could easily be a real Lysander.

I didn't spot it at first as a card model. Very impressive.

What are those little objects next to the wheels? Are they bomblets? Funny place to put them.

Stunning! Is this a kit?
The kit is available from the publishing company; Orlik, http://sklep.orlik-models.pl/

The kit together with the optional laser cut parts (needed) worked out at well under twenty pounds including postage from Poland to the U.K.

The build thread is available here:

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/aviation/28700-westland-lysander-orlik-4-2014-1-33-scale.html

These kits are straight forward to build, but can take a while to complete

I have tried the address that you gave:

http://sklep.orlik-models.pl/

but can't get it to work. The page consists of a right-to-left sliding series of model types but no way to get to the Lysander. Once (only) I was able to choose the Lysander (somewhere, I can't get back to it) and go to checkput and this is what I got:

How exactly please can I get to placing an order?

Also, how would I choose the essential laser cut parts?

Sorry you've had problems. Will do a run through, from the beginning.

The link takes you to the home page. At the top right, click on the Polish flag. This gives you the English version.

You will need to register before placing an order.

Next is to select the items to purchase. on the left of the page, next to the home logo are the drop down menus for the various sections. You will need:

Home/Cardboard Models/Aircraft & helicopters/ Aircraft & helicopters scale 1:33

Fortunately Orlik list their models first. The Lysander, being one of the latest releases is on page five. If you click on the picture it takes you to the info page for the model.

On this page is another menu listed as Additional Accessories, Here you will find the laser cut parts. You are also able the access them via: Home/Accessories/ Low - cut by laser

Once you've selected all you need to purchase, the rest of the checkout options are straight forward. Delivery takes about ten days. Items always arrive well packaged.

If you are new to card modelling, a good forum to join is: http://www.papermodelers.com/

Hope the above helps

Perfect. Many thanks. I will get his model for my birthday in March. I have a touch of the obsessive which is needed for this model.

I watched Lysanders floating lazily about above Aberdeen in WWII and wondered what they were up to. They looked like kites without a string.
