Managed to get back to the bench foe a while and my attention turned to the Jib. First job was to add the missing welds to the turntable base. Not sure I am happy with them but they will do.
Next The angle indicator should have been glued into place, but given I don't know yet ay which angle I will pose it at I drilled through the jib and fixed the indicators both side to a piece of copper wire which allows them to move so I can position them later.
The items that are fixed to the LHS of the jib were detailed and added. And the solid eyelets were removed and replaced with copper wire.
The cable supports were added which are missing from the kit were added from scrap etch.
The biggest pain in the kit so far was running the cable round the pulley blocks. so I made a jig to keep them in the right place so I could run the rope and tighten it. when this was done I could offer up the completed block and put the axle pins in. The end of the roped were run down the jib and secured the other end was anchored in a block made from pewter.
Finally for now the hook gate was replaced with copper wire and a piece of sheet and punced discs.
Eight small holes were drilled in the base of the hook block which you can just see in the picture In reality they have bolts in them but they give an idea.
comments and suggestions welcome as always
cheers Scottie
