Sorry Al, somehow this has slipped under the net.

Very nice cockpit and nice to see an 'Oddball' for a change!

Hi Al

Very clean build so far - great work. I'm completely unfamiliar with this aircraft so I'm curious to see the finished thing.

What role did this aircraft fulfill - ground attack?

Cheers

Paul

Paul. Was totally ground attack. If you do a quick read up about it you'll see it was really the first A-10 Warthog of it's time. The pilot was in a protective 'tub' and the firepower was massive.

Ah... I think I know where I have seen this aircraft - in a Blitz Kreig computer game! (May have been some other computer war strategy game but you get my drift). Seem to remember it making short work of T-34s although I couldn't remember what the aircraft was called.

Your paint scheme sounds really cool, looking forward to the finished thing.

Cheers

Paul

Looking good mate and the camo sounds like it will be impressive.

Cheers Kresten. On paper this is a simple build but i'm finding the more i advance/get experience in modelling, i plan things which mean i have to take things slower. Which isn't a bad thing i might add. Before i would have built it all up and then painted it but if i was to do this with this model then the masking off of certain parts would be a nightmare and trying to paint around them.

Guess modelling is a continual learning process

liking this build Allyne, the engines and grill look especially nice.

Cheers Trey. I used promodeller wash to highlight the grill gaps. Seems to have worked nicely

Whilst i'm waiting for a chance to prime my jagdpanther tracks i thought i'd do some more on my other models i have going on. So added some more lead to my Ta-154 and also painted the top side of this Hs129 with RLM 70. Seems to have come out ok apart from one little bit of RLM 71 that lifted on the port side wing with the masking tape. I'll sort that out tomorrow once the RLM 70 has cured over night.

Nice build.I made the old 1/48 Esci kit of this back in the 80's.It certainly was a deadly aircraft in it's day.I'm reading about it at the moment. In one battle an oberleutnant Ruffer single handedly destroyed ten soviet KV tanks. After the mission armorers found his 30 round 30mm magazine still contained 6 rounds!.
