Top coat is Mission Models. It goes down very thin and needs lots of coats, but that just means I have a lot more control with the coverage.

Don't you have to use it with their primer, to stop it attacking the plastic?

Pete, I use Stynylrez/Badger/UMP primer. The MM paint sticks fine to it and I haven't found it damaging to plastic.

I like the MM paint, I don't want it to cover in one coat so that I can control the amount the pre-shading/modulation/shadow that shows through.

Getting there now, tools and ammo painted. Just got the figures left to paint, but I think I will crack on and finish the vehicle first.

Bob, I've been quietly watching from the circles.
I approve of your thin coats approach. I adopt the same with my brush painting.
As you show, layers of thin paint allow the previous coat(s) to come through, thus producing a nice variation in shades - and as a bonus I find it gives a kick start to the weathering process too.

Nice work on the small stuff Bob I echo Ron's comments about the paint work.

I do have concerns about the soldiers though. They are obviously in some pain now that you have chopped off their hands. I am sure you have your reasons but to leave them on the pole! Yuk! Are they recovering in hospital okay??

The pole comes with the hands moulded on, I guess easier to attach wrists to hands rather than hands to pole. I'm sure a spot of glue and a plaster will see them back in the action in due course.
