Cheers guys.

I got a little bit done on the intakes today, will post some pics tomorrow if I get them finished.

I've set my sights high with these, never done them before and attempting to make them seamless. :smiling6:

If it doesn't work the FOD covers will be closed. :smiling3:

I'm not a wingy person but you have done a wonderful job on this kit. I really enjoyed reading through your blog

Cheers guys. :smiling3:

So, I'm calling the intakes a partial success. This was the progress from rough filling, through sanding and paint.

MVIMG_20180505_132332.jpgMVIMG_20180505_132343.jpgIMG_20180506_133050.jpgMVIMG_20180508_192534.jpgMVIMG_20180508_192613.jpg

There is no seam, but a few small divots that I think were bubbles. More of an issue is that there's a bit of a paint build up at the circular end (they were hung up circle end down) which I think is because the paint was too thick.

I'm going to model them with the covers open though, I think when the fans are installed and it's darker down that end in shouldn't show too much.

I didn't get much else done this weekend as the weather was too nice to be stuck indoors, but I did get some weight glued in to the nose, and also installed the landing gear in the nose bay (this has to be installed before the bay/cockpit are fitted to the nose.

That'll look okay inside the model once assembled Bob. It's an odd shape too looking at it, not like you could have used card, so nice work

Just caught up on this one Bob, the office and wheel wells look great. And a great job on the intake too.

This is looking great. The Revell has some proper detail. Do you know, is it Revell through and through or a re-box ?

Cheers Colin. :smiling3:

I believe it is pure Revell, although looking at the Scalemates timeline it does appear it's been re-boxed my other manufacturers. https://www.scalemates.com/products/product.php?id=467753&p=timeline

I glued the fans in to the intakes yesterday, I think they look OK. Just got to figure out how to mask off the white part of the intakes before I spray the exterior colour, I'm thinking it's probably worth doing this now before the intakes are glued in.

Work continues at a fairly slow pace, I've got another build on the go at the moment which is taking more of my time.

Got the nose and fuselage glued up, although still not together. Also painted up the resin bang seats and got them installed in the tub. :smiling3:

Yes, the Aries seats are very nice, and quite cheap too. Shame you don't see much of them once installed.

The kit ones weren't actually that bad, but at 6 odd quid for the pair I couldn't resist the resin jobbies. :smiling3:
