hi all most of you will be unaware that I have terminal cancer and thus can no longer work.
Giving me too much time on my hands, so I decided to take up modelling mainly tamiya motorcycle kits but, since I purchased my kits my health has taken a turn for the worst meaning. I am no longer able to concentrate and sit for a period of time whilst constructing a model. The actual reasons are too complicated to do into but since i last posted on here I have had another major operation and have been mainly bedbound since last July.
So I have decided to sell the models I have to put that money into something else. But I haven’t a clue where to sell them or for how much. But what I do need is to sell them in one go as I am relying on other people to help me to post them out or to deal with someone if they collect them.

So any help and advice would be most grateful.

I have the following kits available- Ducati superlegera v4 kit , Ducati 916 kit , Honda cb750f kit , Volkswagen T1 camper kit & 2 kits that have been started but not finished that are Susuki hyabusa gsxr1300r kit & a Castrol Toyota supra GT kit

So that’s it I also have quite a few tamiya paints as well as a airbrush kit all can go as I don’t need them anymore and cannot repurpose them but I am clueless to where I can sell these items

So if someone could help I would be incredibly grateful.

kind regards.

Ian

Very, very sorry to hear that Ian.

If you don't been the money, you could give them to the veterans charity, Models for Heroes.

There are other options but I would box them up as follows:

Unstarted kits
Started kits
Paints and any tools you may want to sell
A/B and any accessories (compressor, extractor fan)

That way there will only be four boxes to post.

Put them on ebay (make sure you at least charge for proof of postage if not signed for delivery) and fingers crossed.

You should be able to get some idea of prices if you type the item name in the ebay search bar and look through advanced search for sold listings.

Sorry to hear of your health issues.

Thanks for the replies I think eBay maybe the only option but I really don’t like the large fees they charge you , I need the money to finance me buying another lens for my cannon camera as that’s the only thing I can physically do that’s when or if I get well enough to be able to get out of my bed and house and it takes little physical effort and you don’t need to have the same amount of focus as you do modelling, I can also do the editing when o carnt get out from my MacBook or iPad so as o cannot work money is tight so selling these kits will hopefully go towards a new lens but if anyone on here is interested please message me and I will discuss a price and delivery oh I also have a cb750f motorcycle on 1/6th scale to go with it as well but like I said I don’t want to spli them just sell them and send them to one person to save me the hassle as I just too poorly to send to multiple people.
lomd regards

Forgot Ian, you do not automatically get the discount you have to accept the offer.

If you go to sell in your eBay account it's there, just clicking the tab, hope this helps

Where are you Ian? I'm wondering if a forum member local to you might take on the task of selling them for you.

Hi I am after a cannon ef-s 85-300mm lens as I have just had the viltrox adapter brought for me enabling me to use ef & ef-s lens giving me a lot wider range of lenses to choose from and I can hopefully acquire a good second hand lens thus saving me quite a few pounds in the proces, I have a cannon m50 mk2 ef-m mount and have the 14-55mm & 70-200mm ef-m lenses & a ef 50mm lens the so called nifty fifty and this 75-300 & a ef-s 10-18mm should give me the range of lenses I need to do what I want to do .

Hi Ian
I had the 75-300 for a while, but found it a bit slow focussing for wildlife shots (my main interest). Sold it during first lockdown. Got a 100-400 L now, cost a bit, but it’s great for bird shots when it’s on my 7DII. Got the nifty fifty as well…..great for flower shots, it’s pin sharp with superb colour saturation. General use is the 24-105 and I have a macro as well. Just wish I could hold the thing up and use my camera at the moment, not been out with it for about three years :cold-sweat: .

Hi Sorry to hear a out your illness.

you could try contacting Vectis Auctions. they are a specialist toy seller , I have bought some models off them but never sold anything so not sure what their fees are. They are a real auction house so I suppose you would only have to send the models to them and they would then do the sending to the buyer.

here is a link to their site:

Hi Pete I am in Mansfield Notts well in a village just outside Mansfield very close to jnc 29 of the M1 but I may have had a change of heart because I love this hobby so much I am in two minds what to do now, even if I have to do dat up in bed I will but it’s the fatigue that’s the problem being able to stay awake for long enough to do it and of course the amount of pain I am constantly in every minute of every day which some days I really struggle to controls it even with the morphine/ ketamine & fentanyl I take to control it but I just love doing models I am not going to do anything hasty and sit on them for a while to see if my Palletive care consultant can improve my condition somewhat so I can resume doing the kits so if I can control the pain better I can focus more easily and so on but thanks you for the thought though

Hi all I’ve been busy with my Palletive care team and I’ve got more control of the constance pain I am in , I’ve just started building my 1/6th scale Honda cb750f motorcycle and even though I am having pain all day I am sufficiently medicated to do a hour or two to be able to start model Building again. When it came to it i.e write this post to try & sell my kits I just couldn’t let go and it took a post like this to test my resolve causing me to make a decision on wether to sell up or stay with it but I couldn’t have achieved that without my Palletive care teams support and of course all you lovely peoples out there, so thank you & sorry for wasting your time on what’s now a pointless post but to me it served a purpose it gave me focus . With kind regards ian ❤️

Not pointless at all Ian, and certainly not a waste of time. We all need to unload occasionally. Very glad you are now able to do something that gives you pleasure. I hope it continues.
