Day early but not sure I’ll get time tomorrow. Here’s the victim for the GB Italeri limited edition Scania. Not sure now about the conversion now as there are no uk reg numbers so will save it for another kit. Here are the contents of the box plus my go to reference book by George Dent, also a reference pic for the suzie cables which surprisingly once again don’t get included in such a large model.

Nice one Mick.

Good looking truck that Mick.

I'm not normally one for reference books but that looks quite interesting. There's a huge preview on Google books but it's not the same as having it in your hand.

Thanks for that Ian, typical me, late or wrong place

Thanks Andy, I picked it up for a previous build, I find it easier if I’m constantly referring to something. I first came across his work in model railways, relented modeller

Nice choice Mick, on my return to modelling I built an Italeri Scania Topliner and it came out well even though some parts needed a bit of fettling and the instructions were, to my mind, a bit lacking but I am sure you will make a cracking model out of this kit.

Andy.

Some interesting stuff in it Ian and a good selection of different vehicles

And we’re off. First job removing all the unwanted items from the sprues that are not required in this kit due to new parts. Then work starting on the chassis, got to take my time as I really would like all wheels to be on the ground (at the same time )

That is a lot of unwanted parts! (I thought it was an Italeri kit, not a Dragon LOL)

Got the ladder frame chassis together, it had a slight twist but managed to sort that with some weights while the glue was curing. Behind it you can see the start of the rear axle and suspension. These look like older mouldings from other models of the Scania. The fit hasn’t been great so I’ve been removing locator pins and putting parts together by eye which is going ok. Bit of fettling to get them right but I don’t want to rush this as it needs to sit nice and square on the chassis. Slight delay now as I’ve four 12 hour day shifts to get through.

No progress due to 12 hour days but these arrived in the post today. Modern trucks appear to have black pipes with just the ends coloured but that’s easily sorted
