That’s the one Lee. Such a strange idea I thought it was worth posting.
It was a stripped down T-26 and the idea was to get up to speed, then engage the cams so they would act like an artificial ramp, so launching the tank into the air to clear obstacles. It never really worked as the T-26 wasn’t quite fast enough. Not sure if the idea was pursued further, but the technical report recommended that it was.
Over to you then....

Thanks Tim... was checking everything Vickers related but then thought let's try the Soviet union... voila!

Ok what is the name of the ship and what is it?

Hi Jakko, not Vickers....
Technically, it is, as the T-26 was just the Soviet licence-built model :smiling3: Unlike Lee I did think to look for variants of the T-26, but couldn’t find it last night. It turns out to also not be mentioned in the book I wanted to check but couldn’t be bothered taking off the shelf then :smiling3:

It’s a Cromwell tank with a postwar registration number, with a Asian-looking crew in Soviet-style uniforms and tank helmets, so my guess would be the crew are North Korean because the tank was captured in the Korean War.

Quite right Jakko.
Supposedly captured by the North Korean army following the Happy Valley battle in january 1951.This Cromwell of the 8th Royal Irish Hussars was apparently knocked out some days later by one of the 8th's Centurion IIIs.
Jon.

Neither of those is the correct designation (I’m taking the opposite stance here as in the Potez 63 :smiling3:).

Well, I think they are 19s ‘cos I can’t see any pictures of 21s without the sticky out bit in the air intake (peregrine falcons have the same thing in their nostrils apparently) so i’m going with Mig-19 on the left and Mig-19S for the others, NATO reporting name Farmer

MiG-19s are blunter and more barrel-shaped than the MiG-21, especially in the nose area, and the nose cone of the MiG-21 is movable to regulate airflow to the engine based on current airspeed.

They’re not Su-17s, though.

Did I mention I’m looking for the correct designation for the planes in the photograph? :smiling3:
