39th Regiment of Foot. Previously Viscount Lisburne's Regt of Foot, then Richard Cootes Regt of Foot. Renamed the 39th in 1751.

Difficult to see if the facings are Blue or Green.

Soldier of the 19th Regiment of Foot, known as the Green Howards in 1744 after it's Lt.Col.to distinguish it from the Buffs, also commanded by a Howard.
I think Pat did enough to claim the laurels if that's ok by you Rick.
Jon.

Fuzzy wuzzy angels, Papuan New Guinea carriers, kodokan campaign, carried supplies up the line then wounded Aussies down the line. The care they’ve gave was superb.
Magnificent choice Patrick, wonderful to see them remembered here. Well worth a dio for any dio builders out there.
Cheers
Tim

Koppensnellers, and taking the heads of their enemies. (Though I may be confusing my New Guinean ethnic groups there, of course … and I suspect this wasn’t the reason for the photo and question :smiling3:)

Hi Pat
The reason I got them so quickly was that researching my recent Ansars kept throwing them up as a google response.....
I’m at work so if anyone wants to jump in, feel free! I won’t be offended...

Blimey Peter, you could have given it five minutes LOL. Well I did say it was easy.....
I wanted to do a “what happened next” question where he is wearing the half and half uniform and turns around, but couldn’t find any stills....
Great film in my opinion...your go then..
Cheers
