Jakko,
This was on the same site as the last one (T26) - so I think I have an unfair advantage!!
Apparently it was yet another design never taken seriously enough :smiling3:

I came across it on Google image search when trying to find out what the TR-26C was, so I didn’t pay much attention where it actually comes from. Pinterest, I think, where rather a lot of pictures seem to end up for some reason.

Some horrible flame-throwing contraption?
I’m not saying whether it is or not, but certainly that’s not sufficient identification for me to say you’ve got it right :smiling3:

If that’s a pure guess then you shouldn’t have wasted those numbers here but bought a lottery ticket with them instead :smiling3:

That does seem to be the name commonly used for this vehicle, so I’ll consider it correct. Your go!

Hi Jon
If google is to believed, the character you are alluding to was fictional and was originally conceived by Doyle as Moriarties second in command set up as a foil for Sherlock Holmes? Interested to see how there is a picture of him in that case..so I haven’t quoted his name. Have I missed the point somehow?
Cheers
Tim

OK, we have another name, so perhaps it isn’t Sebastian “tiger jack” Moran?

Thank you Jon

My grandfather served on this ship as Yeoman of Signals from when it was commissioned in Britain during WWII until the end of the war. As you can see it is a US ship which came over as part of the lend lease agreement. British name or US name will win the prize. Bonus points for both names

That looks like a US Lake class cutter, transferred to the RN as a Banff class sloop. Don’t know which one though....survivors were Lulworth, Fishguard, Sennen, Gorleston, Banff, Landguard, and Totland, so is it one of those?
Cheers
Tim

Well done Tim!

It was US Lake class Cutter Tahoe nee HMS Fishguard. Known as the luckiest ship in the Royal Navy as she never lost any of her convoy ships she was escorting. Granddad's highlights were Operation Husky, sinking a U Boat off the African coast and convoy duty in the Far East

Over to you sir:thumb2:
