Trying to have 1/72 fun with the 1940 McClellan- Barclay wacky camouflage schemes.

Just read my last post. "It's good" is not how I meant to write it! How snotty can you get! I meant it was good to do.....

Anyway, here is the finished aircraft.
I eventually went off on one and did my own thing, only loosely based on McC and B's concept.

It was a fun task, but hard to paint.

Freehand brush painted wiv them 'orid little pots of paint.....

A great result Ron and a very interesting idea. The photos show it off perfectly.

This is what happens when you give Ron a cheap kit and some :poop: paints. He builds it well and then paints it beyond belief! Nice one sir.

I read some place, probably in the Beano that Camouflage on aircraft was primarily to hide them on the ground. Lets face it an aircraft, in flight is a dark blob against a light sky.
Once that was figured out our 'Merican buddies gave up the paint and saved a good bit of weight (and cost/time which was put toward the extra maintenance costs.
Back on the topic.
A most excellent and entertaining thread Ron.

That would certainly confuse the enemy,
Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
No, it's super-Ron with his amazing brush work!

Nice 570.
Matron has had to wear dark glasses again , but she insisted on the Committee paying full attention to this. Several members are still confused as they though you had taken up wall paper design.
