Andys MG Metro 6R4, Belkits 1/24

Suspension parts are now painted. A couple of touch ups are still needed but I'll save those until it's installed, in case I slap glue everywhere!

The rear goes in as a subframe assembly, but needs threading through carefully. The front is rather more complex, with various stages and some metal pins to tie parts together. Deep breath needed for that stage

The etch disks with a different drill pattern for each corner are a nice touch

The suspension is now fitted. Just as fiddly as I'd imagined but I got there.

I notice I didn't do a great job of cleaning up the front subframe but luckily the undershield comes to my rescue

I've just had a bit of an oops moment. I opened the packet containing the mirror decals and what I thought was just the usual protective paper turns out to be a mask for the windscreen

Zoë is in for surgery tomorrow so I'll either have loads of hobby time because she's grumpy and wants leaving alone, or she'll turn all needy and I'll be running around after her and won't even see my bench

Great progress and you gotta love the skid plate decals. I wonder if they were that color on the real machine. You're a lucky person to get a mask for the windshield too. My kit has none and I've been scratching my head (and other unmentionables) on a way to mask the front and rear windows...

That explains the colour of the decals. I was wondering about them, but now you mention it, I recall that all the “raw” kevlar I’ve seen IRL (which, I admit, isn’t all that much ) is this odd, pale yellowish/greenish colour like on the corners of the skid plate in your photo of the real thing.
