crich and beamish are very similar.....both worth a vist

Hi Jim

I think the photos were taken somewhere in North Wales - there's one of them standing next to a 'Dim Parcio' sign. The Llanberis Pass stood in for the Khyber in the film (as it did for China in ''Inn of the Sixth Happiness'), so it may be around there.

I’ll pass again. Just arrived at my holiday cottage on the Moray Firth so just my phone for internet surfing.

Jon gets it. It's from Kiplings 'Kim'. The Red Bull on a Green Field turns out to be the badge of Kim's father's regiment - he first sees it on a flag.
