Beautiful job Steve I read somewhere that the gun ports were always covered after each flight to prevent salt water spray getting at the weapons, if the aircraft was left on deck.

Sounds good reasoning...as long as one believes everything one reads!!

I need to make a base somewhat like a US carrier deck. I'm not going for all detailed tie downs etc, just something to give an impression of a painted wooden deck.

I've discovered that the fantastically named Honda colour 'Supersonic Blue' is not a million miles away from the deck colour :smiling3: I'm off to Halfords to get a can! Unfortunately I won't be spraying it until it stops raining. In the meantime I'm starting on an ark whilst SWMBO rounds up the animals :smiling3:

Looking superb Steve , the paint and build are your usual excellent standard and the corsair is such a great looking aircraft. Its going to look perfect on the base, cheers tony
