A 1/24 scale Aircraft SIG

Hmmm, I actually have a 1:24 Airfix Spit as I was wondering around Hobbycraft and noticed it was £30 for a kit whose RRP was £60, and they offered a further 15% off if I joined their "sell your details and spam you a lot" list, sorry, loyalty card scheme.I could be tempted to join this just for the hell of it!!

I'm tempted but there are a nummber of factors putting me off;

1. I've never built anything bigger than 1/72

2. I don't have a 1/24 kit

3. I don't have the space

4. I have a model railway layout to build plus numerous GB stuff that I am behind with

5. My domestic engineering expert would batter me

Mmmmm I can see that you have a few problems and no5 sounds very dangerous.Perhaps your expert needs a bit of softening up good luck

on the Debenhams website they have a spitfire and hurricane for £30 in 1/24,if people can afford it

I was thinking just the same Alan #5 is a lot easier than SWMBO

#5 Thats the tricky one.... however if you instigate #3 she will be way to busy, picking out curtains and wall paper. (Which unless like my #5, you will also have to hang...)

Hmm Probably cheaper to buy her something pretty...

That's pretty much it. Typhoons sank some shipping in the Baltic right at the end of the war. There must be a reason I've remembered that, but I don't know why.

An act of insanity...

I am not going to say you cant do that but I would, in a friendly way suggest that you put the calvados away and seriously consider wanting to build a wreck out of a rather expensive kit.

Do a wreck by all means but think about buying a cheaper one. I feel I know you well enough to say that you will do a great job from a cheap kit, as a wreck and if you build the Typhoon as a complete machine, and give it the attention you gave the Stuka you recently built that would be amazing.

At the end of the day it is your kit and you will build it as you see fit.

As for which build to put it in. I would go for the one that will give you the most time to complete it in.
